A Brooklyn woman remains hospitalized after suffering a brutal knife attack believed to be at the hands of her husband, Upali Pelige, 40.

According to the New York Daily News, the Staten Island resident flew into a rage early Tuesday morning, stabbing his wife in the face, neck head and body. Investigators say that the reason for the attack was that the woman refused to have sex with him.

The pair has been married less than a year, eight months to be exact, but according to sources, they lived apart. Pelige fled the East New York apartment, where his wife lived after he allegedly stabbed her. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital where she was placed in a medically induced coma.

Cops caught up with Pelige and arrested him Tuesday night.
