Approximately nine months after he was arrested for allegedly beating his pregnant fiancée, former 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald has been accused of hitting a woman again.

According to TMZ, the 30-year-old was arrested in Santa Clara, California Monday on domestic violence and child endangerment charges. Cops responded to the athlete’s home at approximately 3:45 am. It was there that an unidentified woman told police that McDonald struck her while she was holding an infant in her arms before he fled to another home in San Jose, which is where investigators tracked him down.

Cops have not identified the alleged victim, but it is speculated that she is his former fiancée, who gave birth to his child back in March. As previously stated, the defensive lineman was arrested following the late August incident, but the district attorney didn’t move forward with charges because the victim refused to cooperate with the investigation.

According to NFL.com, the defensive end was dropped by the San Fransisco 49ers the following December while he was being investigated for a possible sexual assault.  McDonald signed a 1-year contract with the Chicago Bears in March. The team has since dropped McDonald after learning of Monday’s alleged incident.

“We were very clear what our expectations were,” said Bears General Manager Ryan Pace.
