[Watch] Rachel Dolezal Appears On “The Today Show” Following NAACP Resignation

Rachel Dolezal

So Rachel Dolezal’s exclusive interview with “The Today Show” aired this morning. Honestly, we feel like it served no purpose because it’s apparent that this woman is not going to speak candidly about what’s really happening here.

During the sit-down with Matt Lauer, Dolezal explained that although her biological parents are of Czech, German and Swedish decent, she identifies as Black. She went on to say that she has felt this way since childhood.

“I was drawing self-portraits with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon, and black curly hair,” she told Lauer.

Dolezal also accused her parents of trying to “whitewash” her work and her identity.

“I really don’t see why they’re in such a rush to whitewash some of the work that I have done and who I am and how I’ve identified.”

As for the deceptive nature of her actions, Dolezal insists that she never conned anyone into believing that she is African American. Instead, she says that she just didn’t correct people when they assumed that she was.

Anyway, check out her full interview below and let us know your thoughts.
