If you watched the incredibly moving interview with Bruce Jenner and Diane Sawyer, you knew that it wouldn’t be long before “her” was revealed. Her was the temporary name Jenner had given his true self, a woman. And now, on the cover of Vanity Fair, we’re getting a chance to meet Caitlyn Jenner, the July cover star.
Friday Night Lights author Buzz Bissinger was given access to Jenner her famous family and the adjustments they all had to make in accepting and embracing this truth telling, in a physical transformation. Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz took the first professional portraits of Caitlyn in her Malibu home.
Jenner told Bissinger, poignantly, “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.’”
Caitlyn looks amazing! Anyone who says differently is a lie. The office consensus is that Jenner resembles Jessica Lange but I’m also seeing a little Geena Davis from A League of Their Own and Greys Anatomy. Either way, this is the way to present yourself.
Congratulations to Caitlyn, ain’t no feeling like being free!
