Four Dallas, Texas relatives have been arrested and charged in the brutal attack of a pregnant 14-year-old girl and the disposal of a fetus, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Police say, Cedric Jones, 27; Sharon Jones; 45, Cecila McDonald, 25; and Lonnell McDonald 27, all played a role in the gruesome crime alleged to have taken place in March of 2013. The teen told Dallas investigators last month that she was raped and impregnated by a relative in August 2012. She told police that she was a virgin before she was raped and “did not tell anyone about the sexual assault because … she was embarrassed.”
The girl says that eight months into her pregnancy, the foursome conspired to induce a miscarriage out of concern that other children would be removed from the home once Child Protective Services learned of her pregnancy.
At first, Sharon Jones gave the victim “multiple doses of birth control pills, Plan B [emergency contraception] pills and cinnamon tablets … to abort the baby,” police said. When the pills did not result in an abortion, Cecila McDonald allegedly pinned the teen down while Lonnell McDonald began “repeatedly bouncing up and down” while sitting on the girl’s stomach. It is also alleged that he kicked the victim repeatedly.
“You ain’t about to get my kids taken away from me,” Cecila McDonald allegedly told the victim as Lonnell McDonald laughed.
Investigators say that the assault lasted six hours and did not end until the victim began bleeding profusely. Throughout the alleged attack, the girl says that she cried out in pain and was told by Sharon Jones to “shut up” and cry into a pillow. The teen delivered what she believed to be a stillborn two hours after she began to bleed.
She was uncontrollably pushing and delivered what she believed was a stillborn baby … Accomplice Cecila McDonald entered the bathroom and placed the baby in a white plastic mop bucket and removed it from the room.
WFAA reports that the foursome is accused of trying to burn the baby’s body using a charcoal grill, but they were unsuccessful in their attempts to completely destroy the fetus’ remains. Two days later, Sharon Jones allegedly paid Cedric Jones $25 to “take care of the rest of it,” according to an affidavit.
At some point after the assault, the baby was placed in a short, pill-shaped, black metal charcoal grill and [the suspects] attempted to burn it.
Accomplice Sharon Jones contacted suspect Cedric Jones Jr. approximately two days later and offered to pay him $25 if he would take care of the rest of it. Suspect Cedric Jones, along with a witness, returned to the location at which time Suspect Cedric Jones Jr. placed the remains in a dark green plastic bag with a red drawstring, placed it in his trunk, and stashed the remains in an unknown location.
The family instructed the victim to take iron pills for blood loss, but they never sought medical help. All four suspects have been charged with engaging in criminal activity. Bond for each suspect has been set at $150,000.
