GoFundMe is not here for the Baltimore police union’s mess.
The fundraising website shut down a page dedicated to the six officers of the Baltimore police union charged with killing Freddie Gray. The police union stated, Apparently our GoFundMe account has been suspended with no explanation. We are working to find a new site for donations. Thank you!”
The suspensed isn’t the first page to be deleted on GoFundMe. Last month, the website deleted the pages of two Christian Businesses that refused to serve gay weddings.
GoFundMe spokeswoman Kelsea Little explained to the Baltimore Sun that the website cannot be used to help those who are charged with serious violations of the law. Little says, The campaign clearly stated that the money raised would be used to assist the officers with their legal fees, which is a direct violation of GoFundMe’s terms.
