“You People Are Being So Rude!” High School Principal Apologizes For Racist Remarks

High School Principal Apologizes For Racist Remarks

It’s not hard for a school to develop a reputation. A single perception, a few anecdotes shared among friends and just a sprinkle of facts can label an institution for years.

TNT Academy in Lilburn Georgia had developed a reputation for being “racist.” But this past weekend, during the high school’s graduation ceremony, the school’s founder and principal Nancy Gordeuk removed all doubts.

It all started when Gordeuk left the valedictorian’s name off of the program. Believing that the ceremony was over, people started leaving the venue. Sometime during the process, someone made an announcement saying that there was still a speech. But people were already out the door. And Gordeuk was upset about it.

She went to the podium and said: “You people are being so rude, to not listen to this speech. It was my fault that we missed it in the program. Look who’s leaving…all the black people!”

This might be hard to believe, so here’s the video below.

The auditorium, including another administrator on stage, erupted in disbelief and anger and then everyone started leaving.

The story spread like wildfire over the weekend and people were outraged and apparently people were making threats. So many that Nancy’s son responded, further proving that Nancy might be a bit racist.

Later, Gordeuk apologized for her comments.

“You know, I’m sorry. I made a mistake. Anybody that knows me, that’s gone to school at TNT knows that I am not a racist, not a bigot. It was not a statement of racism, it was just my frustration. And when I said, I told my husband, it felt like the devil was in the house because it didn’t even sound like me.”

Lol. Nancy is really wylin out here. Perhaps her comments would have been best kept to herself. You can watch her full apology and the reaction of the attendees in the video below.
