The bodies of two St. Louis women were discovered in a vacant lot early Sunday morning. Cops responded to the scene just after midnight after they received a call about a shooting, Fox 2 Now reports.

The victims were identified as Antquonette Hale, 20, and her sister Tahnaizja Smith, 15. Hale suffered gunshot a wound in the back. Smith was shot in the face, chest and arm. Both sisters were pronounced dead at the scene. Relatives of the victims are heartbroken and confused about what led to the shooting.

“Not a clue,” said the girls’ uncle Charles Wines. “They called us this morning to come down and view the bodies and it was them.”

Investigators arrived at Smith and Hale’s home around 2:00 am and informed loved ones of the tragedy. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

As the relatives of these two young women are forced to cope with this horrific tragedy, they’re also tasked with funding funeral services for Hale and Smith.

In a recently launched Go Fund Me campaign, the mother of the victims requested the public’s assistance with funeral costs. She writes:

We are asking for your heartfelt contributions to help bury my two daughters. They were loving girls and full of life and they deserve a proper burial.

We send our prayers to this family during this difficult time.
