Nine Georgia deputies have been fired after the death of 22-year old Matthew Ajibade.

Matthew was arrested for an alleged attack on his girlfriend back in January. Ajibade, suffered from bipolar disorder and experienced an episode during the attack on his girlfriend.  According to reports, during his arrest, he got into an altercation with three deputies and was left with a broken nose. Matthew was then handcuffed to a restraint chair and tasered. He was found unresponsive hours later.

The NINE deputies involved have all been terminated. The fact that there were NINE officers arresting one man should raise your eyebrows.

A Chatham County Sheriff, released a statement indicating that Matthew’s case will change the policy within the police department. Al St. Lawrence stated,

“Additionally, I have instituted numerous policy changes. Those changes include safeguards for those reported to suffer from a mental health illness as well as security cross checks,” he said.

As of right now, an investigation is under way.
