Ciara is making press rounds to promote her new album Jackie and, of course, she’s being hit left and right with questions about her rumored beau, Russell Wilson. While she wouldn’t give up much during a recent interview with Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez, she did agree that Russell is the anomaly when compared to the “rebel” and “street boy” types she has dated in the past. Check out some highlights from her interview below.
On the timing of her White House date with Russell Wilson:
I don’t make any moves unless I’m sure about them, especially now.
I’m just saying I moved at my timing for me and I’m moving at my timing that works for me. You know, especially after my son, I have to be very aware of him more than anything. Every decision I make in my life—I can’t always make the most perfect ones—but every step that I take in my life right now, I’m going to try to do my best with it.
On Russell’s character:
I mean, all that I can say to you is that he really is an awesome person. I can definitely say that.
On Russell being different from her exes:
In life, for me, everything is about timing. Again, I’ve been able to have my experiences and learn from them and figure out the things that really work for me and are best for me. That’s all I can really say.
On previously having a thing for rebels and “street” boys:
I was pretty consistent. I’ve always had this thing for a rebel and the street boy. That’s always been my thing.
Again, timing, timing in your life. You see things one way during a certain time period. I don’t want it to seem like I’m saying anything against anyone that I’ve been with in my life because I have nothing bad to say about anybody.
On how baby Future will spend his 1st birthday later this month:
It’s going down. He’s going to have a party in Atlanta, my hometown, with his other brothers and sisters on his dad’s side. So I’m excited about that.
It’s all about family. It’s all about love. It’s all about my son having a good time with his siblings.
On the Baltimore mom who snatched up her son after he was caught rioting:
“I did see that. I would be the mom like, “What you doing? Get your mind right.” I’m definitely one of those moms. Real quick.
