So eagerly awaited was the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight that the tickets sold out in an instant — 60 seconds — when they went on sale on Ticketmaster. That includes the tickets that were selling for $7,500. According to TMZ, the only other option is the secondary market where tickets can go for thousands more. CNN says StubHub has a ticket for $128,705.

Part of the reason for the speedy sell out is the fact that only 1,000 were made available to the purchasing public. The remaining tickets — 16,500 of them — are being used by the fighters (Pacquiao is rumored to have 800 to 900 friends and family members from the Philippines who’d like to go) and their people along with the promoters, sponsors and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where the fight is taking place.

The big money isn’t just in ticket prices. The two fighters just signed their contracts this week, and it will be the biggest payout in the history of sports. Mayweather is expected to take home $120 million, Pacquiao $80 million, irrespective of who wins. And the pay-per-view price is setting a record at $99.

The fight will take place on May 2.
