For some time now, rumors of a budding romance forming between singer Ciara Harris, 29, and Seattle Seahawks player Russell Wilson, 26, have been swirling. Though nothing has been confirmed by either party, the two were reportedly spotted at a Seattle Mariners game last weekend on what appeared to be a date.
It seemed that the pair’s coupledom would be confirmed Saturday at the White House Correspondents Dinner when The Washington Post reported that Wilson would be bringing Harris to the dinner as his “date.” According to The Post, a guest list for the dinner released by AOL had Harris listed as Wilson’s +1.
It’s unclear what changed since the list was printed and last night, but the Superbowl champion took to Facebook last night to let it be known that the R&B singer will not be on his arm tomorrow night. Instead, he’ll be bringing his grandmother.
“Can’t wait to dance with my beautiful date at the WHCD this weekend! #shesgotmoves #loveugrandma,” he captioned an adorable video of he and his grandmother dancing.
Our best guess is that if they are, in fact, dating, Russell and Cici are probably trying to maintain a low profile. Just last summer, Harris called off her engagement to ex-fiancé, Nayvadius “Future” Wilburn. The two share one child together. Wilson also recently ended a relationship. Last year, his estranged wife Ashton Meem file for divorce after two years of marriage.
Considering that they’re both fresh out of failed relationships, it’s probably wise to keep quiet and take things slow. We’re definitely rooting for them.
