Tony Romo Intercepted by the Law on a Wisconsin Highway.

Tony Romo is famous for many things: fumbling snaps, throwing touchdowns, and accurately predicting exactly what a quarterback is going to do three seconds before it happens. However, it seems his legendary crystal ball was a bit foggy on a fateful night in Wisconsin. This bodycam footage gives us a front-row seat to a drive that definitely didn't end in the end zone. Instead of reading a blitz, Tony was stuck reading the eye chart on the side of a Milwaukee highway near “the stack,” which sounds more like a delicious pancake house than a high-stakes highway interchange.

Usually, we hear Tony’s voice excitedly screaming about "the A-gap" or a "disguised coverage," but in this video, the only thing being disguised was his ability to walk in a perfectly straight line. The Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy stepped in as the ultimate referee, throwing a metaphorical yellow flag that resulted in a permanent benching for the evening. If only Jim Nantz had been there to provide the play-by-play, we might have understood if Tony was trying to scramble away from the sobriety test or if he was simply looking for a lost cheese curd in the tall grass.

It is a classic Wisconsin tailgating story gone wrong. You have to appreciate the irony of a man who makes a living analyzing "the pocket" ending up in one that belongs to the local precinct. While fans are used to seeing him under the bright lights of a stadium, the flashing red and blue lights of a patrol car offer a much less flattering filter for a Sunday afternoon hero. We can only hope that during the processing phase, he didn’t try to predict which fingerprint the officer was going to take next—though, knowing Tony, he probably saw it coming three steps away.
