Raven-Symoné is no longer dating “The View.” A statement released by ABC Wednesday confirmed that the 29-year-old actress is now in an exclusive relationship with the daytime television show–and it appears that things are serious.
After 37 guest host appearances, the network decided to bring the former child star on as a permanent host.
“The Disney Company has made another one of my dreams come true! Being a part of ‘The View’ family will be a wonderful growing experience for me,” Raven said in a press release. “The cast and crew are warm and welcoming and has made the transition into daytime talk easier. I have a lot to learn within this new arena, but being the apprentice of these spectacular women will only make me a better person and talk show host.”
The folks over at ABC seem equally excited to have her.
“Raven is smart, funny and genuine. We’ve loved getting to know her, and we’re all thrilled she’ll be part of ‘The View’ every day,” “View” Executive Producer Bill Wolff said. “She brings a fresh perspective on the hot topics of the day, and she’s a lively, welcome addition to our conversations and interviews.”
The actress joins panelists Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace, and Rosie Perez. While this is big news, we can’t say that it’s the least bit surprising. Last month, Whoopi encouraged viewers to write the network requesting that Raven be added to the cast permanently.
