It seems that getting your hair done and bailing on the tab is a growing trend.
According to WCNC, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested and charged Champagne Williams, who they believe is responsible for running over Naiday Nangui, 38, with her car.
Nangui, who works as a stylist at Bignon’s African Hair Braiding and Weaving salon in North Carolina, was rushed to Carolina Medical Center Tuesday night where she was treated for a broken arm and bruises to her face and body.
According to the Nangui’s husband, Blaise Nangui, his wife spent nearly six hours braiding Williams’ hair, but when it was time to pay, there was a discrepancy about payment.
“My wife finish, she spend something like six hours to finish her hair,” said the victim’s husband.
Nangui told Williams that the cost would be $180, but the client explained that she only brought $160 with her and that she was waiting for a friend to bring the remaining $20. The friend never arrived at the salon and it’s alleged that Williams tried to leave with Nangui on her trail. The stylist was able to catch up with Williams before she could close the door of her vehicle.
“When she went outside, she was close to the door and she backed up the car and she dragged my wife all over the road,” said Mr. Nangui.
Unsurprisingly, he says that he wants to see Williams behind bars for what she did to his wife.
“She can go to the jail and she needs to go to the jail because what I think– it’s where she belongs. It’s not smart; it’s not really smart to do so.”
Williams has been charged with two counts of hit-and-run personal injury and theft.
