Omari Hardwick: “My People” Are The Only Ones Who Can’t Separate Me From The Characters I Play

Omari Hardwick has played some very unforgettable roles in the past few years, most recently sexy two-timing Andre on “Being Mary Jane” and Ghost on the hit Starz series, “Power.” Because he’s so convincingly captivating in each role, it’s hard for most fans to leave their fantasies about the actor behind once one of these shows go off, but for Omari that seems to be a bit of a problem. When we asked the actor if people ever forget that he’s just playing a character, he said it happens often, but that “my people,” i.e. Black folks, are the only ones who seem to be unable to separate art from life when it comes to him. We’re not sure about that, but we’ll go ahead and let you finish Omari.
