Gabby Sidibe promises to tell it all in an upcoming memoir. The Empire actress has inked a deal with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to publish her memoir in 2017, reports Clutch.
“I’ve been writing since I was a child and have always had so many stories to tell that are too long, shady, and impolite to share in interviews,” said Sidibe, 32, in a statement.
And the publishing house feels Sidibe has a great story to tell. Said Houghton Mifflin Harcourt senior executive editor Deanne Urmy, “Moving from Bed-Stuy to Senegal to Cannes, as Gabby has done in a still-short lifetime, has helped produce a fierce, wise way of being in the world impossible not to admire. ‘Funny’ doesn’t begin to capture just how irreverent and complex Gabby’s stories are.”
The yet untitled book will feature stories from Sidibe’s life, covering everything from depression to her fearless style. We’re counting on the fact that it will have Gabby’s sarcastic brand of humor as well.
