I definitely don’t consider myself to be an authority on anything relating to single parenthood, but I have to admit that I was kind of shocked to see Ciara bring her 1-year-old son along during a Memorial Day weekend outing with new beau Russell Wilson.
The trio was out and about at the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. A fan, who just so happened to be strolling along River Walk as well, snapped a picture of the group as they enjoyed their time out. Interestingly, Russell was the one pushing little Future’s stroller.

While the exact relationship timeline for Ciara and Russell is not 100% clear, both parties have made it obvious that whatever they have going on is fairly new. It was only last month when the duo made their first public appearance together.
“That’s why it’s my personal life, I don’t talk about it too much,” Wilson said of his dating life after attending April’s White House State Dinner with the singer. “But, there is someone in mind. I’ll say that.”
With the newness of their situation in mind, I kind of began to wonder whether or not it was too soon for her to introduce her child into the relationship. Though I am not a parent myself, many of the parents I know who are out and about in the dating world say that they wait a significant amount of time before introducing a new partner to their children. Of course, the ages of the children involved probably also plays a role in how soon a single parent makes the big introduction, but it’s all still a huge step, regardless of how old the children are. In a recent interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, the “I Bet” singer was asked about how soon it would be before she decided to introduce her new guy to her son and she basically explained that it’s not really about a timeline, but more so when it feels right.
“I think it’s all about when it feels right,” she explained.
Perhaps Russell has shown her some things that left her confident in the stability of their relationship.
