All Six Officers Indicted In Death Of Freddie Gray, Says Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby

Less than a month after six Baltimore officers were charged in relation to the death of Freddie Gray, State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby has announced that all six officers have been indicted on various crimes relating to Gray’s April 12 death.

According to CNN, the indictment was announced Thursday during a press conference. After conducting an investigation into the incident, Mosby explained that charges have been altered to fit the crimes her office believes that these officers committed.

“As our investigation has continued, additional information has been discovered and as is often the case, charges can and should be revised based upon the evidence.”

The charges pending against each officer have been detailed below.

Officer Caesar R. Goodson Jr.: second-degree depraved heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree negligent assault, manslaughter by vehicle and gross negligence, manslaughter by vehicle criminal negligence, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner and reckless endangerment.

Officer William G. Porter: involuntary manslaughter, second-degree negligent assault, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding the safety of a prisoner and reckless endangerment.

Lt. Brian W.: involuntary manslaughter, second-degree negligent assault, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding the safety of a prisoner, illegal arrest and reckless endangerment.

Officer Edward M. Nero: second-degree intentional assault, misconduct in office for an illegal arrest, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding the safety of a prisoner and reckless endangerment.

Officer Garrett E. Miller: second-degree intentional assault, misconduct in office for an illegal arrest, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding the safety of a prisoner and reckless endangerment.

Sgt. Alicia D. White: involuntary manslaughter, second-degree negligent assault, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding the safety of a prisoner and reckless endangerment.

All officers are scheduled to be arraigned in Baltimore on July 2nd.
